Hess Art Collection
Over the years, Donald Hess has cultivated his two great passions: Art and Wine. When he was young, he started his art collection with perception, enthusiasm and perspicacity. Instead of falling for trends and short-lived fads, he listened carefully and followed the natural instinct in him. In this way, he has collected works by different artists who share a unique perspective and who connect to his soul.
At the beginning, the collection was made up of modern and contemporary works by European and American artists. Nowadays, it consists of works by artists from all over the world.
In 1989, Donald Hess opened his collection to the public with the inauguration of the Hess Collection Winery in Napa Valley. This art museum functions in the original winery. Other Hess Art Collection museums can be found at the Glen Carlou Winery in South Africa and at Bodega Colomé in Argentina.
